Mr. Fela Durotoye is the Managing Consultant of V.I.P Consulting Limited. He is a Computer Scientist and an Economist who has acquired financial and management consulting experience with VENTURES & TRUSTS LIMITED, the sole investment consultants in Nigeria to the European Investment Bank. As a venture capital and project finance analyst, he was involved in the set up and management of several venture capital projects including Academy Press Business Forms Limited and Best Oils Limited.
Fela has a Masters degree in Business Administration from "Great Ife", the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, during which he understudied the Management of Change in Complex Organisations. He brought his experience to bear in the area of Business Process Re-engineering for some major TQM implementation projects in PHILLIPS CONSULTING where he excelled to head the Customer Service Group.
As Head of the Customer Service Group, Fela designed and facilitated several customer service and personal mastery training programmes and retreats. Based on his unconventional approach to facilitating, Fela Durotoye has become a "household" name in Diamondbank, Chartered Bank, NAL Bank, Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria where he has managed streams of Customer Service Management training programmes and retreat on behalf of Phillips Consulting for Functional Managers.
Fela co-led the Diagnostic Review Team on the Culture Change programme in First Bank Nigeria plc. He later led the Diagnostic Review Team on the on-going Bank Transformation programme in Inland Bank plc during which he was also given the sole responsibility of preparing the Organisation Diagnostic Report on Inland Bank.
Mr. Durotoye was responsible for the programme design and logistic management for the first-ever series of Management Retreats facilitated by Phillips Consulting for the Central Bank of Nigeria.
In February 2001, Fela was sought after by the ECOWAS Secretariat to facilitate a 5 year Visioning & Strategy Session. Based on the success of this retreat, he was invited to Lome, Togo to facilitate a retreat for a multilateral organisation with an annual turnover of over US $100 million. His exceptional facilitation style was attested to in September 2002, when the Integrated Programmes Sector of ECOWAS invited him to facilitate their annual retreat programme. In October 2002, Fela will be facilitating strategic retreats for the ECOWAS Administration Directorate and in November 2002, the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development.
Renowned for his out-of-the-box thinking, Mr. Durotoye recently established Wisdom & I as a platform for motivating business leaders to see beyond their present boundaries and limitations into areas never ventured before. In the course of his journey to developing business managers to enjoy unprecedented levels of performance improvements, Fela developed the concept of Performance Optimisation presently causing excitement in management circles. Fela also travels from university to university, facilitating the Future Leaders seminar motivating students to a successful future. He presently mentors over 75 protégés personally through counseling.
In November 2001, Fela was invited and appointed a MENTOR on the Aspiring & Emerging Entrepreneurs programmes by the prestigious FATE FOUNDATION.
Having recently concluded an M.Phil degree programme, Mr. Fela Durotoye is pursuing a doctorate degree in Strategic Management with particular emphasis on Performance Optimisation.
